Nordstrom Gift Shop
My Role: Graphic Design Manager
The Challenge: Nordstrom leadership assembled a Steering Committee to establish a plan to drive engagement and increase customer spend for the holiday season. Their solution was to create a Holiday Gift Shop–a highly curated pop-up shop for all stores that would extend into departments and align with the current marketing holiday campaign. My team was entrusted with designing the modular system of components for the shop build and supporting sign package designed to fit a variety of floor plans.
Goals:
Establish Nordstrom as a premier gift-giving destination
Attract new customers and inspire existing customers to shop more
Allow stores to merchandise shops within themes based on inventory available
Connect with the existing marketing holiday campaign

Shop Components
Environmental Graphics
Actions: I partnered with the Holiday Steering Committee led by the VP of Special Projects to create naming conventions and content hierarchy for the shops. I also led the graphic design practice, establishing color palettes, graphic elements and ensuring all visuals aligned with marketing brand standards within budget and on schedule.
The Outcome:
119 curated gift shops
A flexible system to fit a variety of shop configurations
Components that could be flat packed and assembled and taken down in a few hours
A naming convention for signing that could support a variety of merchandising options based on product availability
The shop inspired future seasonal shops, most notably Spring Break–a low-cost concept that achieved double-digit gains for the month
